Gold set a new record high on February 10 in the wake of new US President Donald Trump announcing blanket 25 percent tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, but now it’s time to cool down and consolidate. Some big traders decided to fix their long positions on Friday, February 14th, after U.S. retail sales saw sharp drop in January.
